You're on the path to becoming a magical girl but there's one problem: You don't know who you'll be as one! Luckily, this page is here to give you a comprehensive list of things to consider when planning out your other self.
The F-Shift (or Fantasy Shift) is arguably the most important part of the journey, but you don't even need to properly do it! You can leave everything you can't or don't want to plan for the world to figure out on it's own, and that can be everything at all if you'd like. Doing that will just make the journey significantly harder. Remember; the more you plan, the easier the adventure will be!
Type
This is the most important part of your F-Shift! If you don't plan anything out, at least think about this. What magical girl media does your magic system work from? You can choose any media, and there are already magical girls of those types here, so you won't be alone (unless you make your own type, which is also okay)! This part of the F-Shift is extremely important because of the danger levels of the threats you'll be facing. You could go missing in a labyrinth if you're a PMMM magical girl, or you could tell a civilian about your destiny and be killed for it if you're an MGRP magical girl. Even a Cure can be killed in the line of combat by a buffoon or a disdain. The type of work you'll be doing is instrumental to your destiny, and you need to choose wisely.
Outfit
Your outfit, as a magical girl, is an extremely important part of planning. Try to make your outfit not only something you're happy with, but something that reflects who you are. This is where you decide what your color would be, as well. Your color is not actually as important as it sounds; you could choose what best shows who you are from your type, or you could just pick your favorite color, it doesn't have to be deep! Try to go with a specific style of outfit, and if you can't find anything; feel free to use a dress up site or fully design an outfit yourself! You don't even need to wear a dress, get creative!
Powers/weapon
Even if you're doing good deeds instead of fighting, you'll need a way to protect yourself. You can do this through magical weapons a-la Madoka Magica, having kinetic abilities, or both. Try to pick something that really speaks to you. There are so many possibilities for weapons and super powers or combinations of them, you're bound to find something that feels you. If you're using both, try and find powers that work well with your weapon, not separate from it.
Transformation
First of all, I don't think anyone knows what really happens during a magical girl transformation. Generally, you will be the only one who sees your transformation, so you don't need to do much for it if you don't want to. Personally, I just transform instantly, in a puff of glitter, instead of a fancy dance scene or anything like that. All you need is your method of transforming, which is arguably a very important thing to plan ahead, so you know how to transform. You can use a specific item and say a command to transform, or you can simply have the intent on doing it. Usually, this gets sorted out for you in your type, but not always!
Title/Tagline
Not everyone will have one of these, but it's advisable that everyone has at least a title. You generally don't want everyone to know who you are as a civilian, right? Just like I am Idoleques, you should come up with your own title. A tagline is just what you can say after your transformation or after a battle that will most likely be tied to who you are if you end up with an audience. The names of moves also include things like this, think of it as something little girls will probably quote while waving around toy wands or something.
And that's all you need! Of course, you can change more than just that. Your mascot, your body underneath the clothes, really anything, but that's up to you. These were the basics, and now you know them! This is your first step towards becoming a magical girl.
